  • Acting for Two: Ruby Lin plays both Fu Ya and Consort Mei.
  • Actor Allusion: Possibly an unintentional one. Lian Cheng references Hongfu, and his actor Wallace Huo played Hongfu's husband in Romance of Red Dust.
  • Completely Different Title:
    • The alternate English titles, Introduction of the Princess and Princess Dumping World, are nothing like the Chinese one.
    • The series' Japanese title is 傾城の皇妃 〜乱世を駆ける愛と野望〜 (Keisei no Kouhi ~Ransei wo Kakeru Ai to Yabou~), meaning roughly "The Beautiful Empress ~Love and Ambition in a Turbulent World~".
    • Its Korean title is 경세황비 (Gyeongse Hwangbi), meaning roughly "The Great Empress".
    • Its Thai title is หม่าฟู่หยา หัวใจเพื่อบัลลังก์ (Hmafuhyaa Huuajaipeuuabanlang), meaning roughly "Ma Fu Ya: Heart for the Throne".
  • "Do It Yourself" Theme Tune:
    • Ruby Lin (Ma Fu Ya) sings "倾世皇妃/Qīng Shì Huáng Fēi/The Glamorous Imperial Concubine" and "倾听我/Qīng Tīng Wǒ/Listen to Me".
    • Wallace Huo (Liu Lian Cheng) sings "倾世/Qīng Shì/Glamorous Lifetime".
  • Romance on the Set: Ruby Lin and Wallace Huo got married five years after this series.
