- Serendipity Writes the Plot: In round 3, Karen Minazuki's player was scheduled going to be stuck at a party for most of the first trial and unable to follow along except with an unreliable phone connection. This is why Karen "suspiciously" didn't investigate (actually just because there was a chance of connection problems interfering with sharing any evidence she found) and then did a poor job of defending herself (because the player was having difficulty keeping up with the trial). The scapegoating that resulted was a perfect thematic fit for the round, and added to the impact when that same character became the players' introduction to the "demon" mechanic.
- What Could Have Been: Round 5 originally would have cast the Winchester House as a member of the hotel species that had the equivalent of cancer, but then COVID-19 happened and suddenly a murdergame round with terminal illness as a prominent theme hit too close to home
