• Write What You Know: John Dalmas's career involved years in the forestry service, and a training stint in the airborne at the end of WW2. Curtis joins the 82nd in the middle of the war and does fight alongside them. He also spent years as a lumberjack in both worlds. Dalmas spent years as a forest service worker. Ecology was his main field of study, while fiction was a side hobby that he eventually spun into a career of its own.
