- Creator-Preferred Adaptation: Moorcock is on record to stating that the Titan Comics adaptations of Elric: The Ruby Throne (2014) and Elric: Stormbringer (2015) are his favorite comics adaptations, and he even considers them superior to his own novel.
- Fountain of Expies: Being one of the most influential pieces of fantasy literature, concepts and characters from the books have been copied in a variety of different media; which actually is fitting considering the series' emphasis on The Multiverse, which also means that every Expy / Captain Ersatz could be technically a canonical alternate version of something from the novels.
- Elric himself is the quintessential Fantasy Anti-Hero / Anti-Villain, having inspired countless similar characters right down to his albinism, such as Cecil Harvey, Geralt of Rivia, Griffith, Kain, Brynden "Bloodraven" Rivers, and most of the Drakengard protagonists.
- Stormbringer is the granddaddy of all Evil Weapons, including Blackrazor from Dungeons & Dragons, the Black Sword from Ultima VII, the Soul Reaver from Legacy of Kain, Frostmourne from Warcraft and Craven Edge from Critical Role, the countless Daemon Weapons of Warhammer fame, which actually cleave even closer to the swords of Elric in that they too are demonic beings merely in the shapes of swords. Although some of these are less dickish to their wielder compared to Stormbringer.
- The Melniboneans themselves were the major Trope Maker for the modern dark elf archetype. If you see a race or culture of evil elves who live in a decadent, corrupt aristocratic society and are aligned with malign supernatural forces in a fantasy novel, odds are good they draw some inspiration from Elric's people.
