  • Tommy Lee's wife, Brittany Furlan, plays a biker girl who asks Mick if he's in the band during the introductory scene.
• Colbert Bump: The band's songs saw a revival, with the soundtrack for The Dirt being their first top 10 album since their last studio effort in 2008. And the interest in Motley Crue's history even led to Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee entering the Billboard Social 50 based on the views for their Wikipedia pages.
• Dawson Casting: Tommy Lee is played by Machine Gun Kelly and Vince Neil is played by Daniel Webber are two years older and four years older than Nikki Sixx actor Douglas Booth. In real life Nikki is older than Tommy and Vince.
• Fake American: Everyone in the Crue except Machine Gun Kelly as Tommy Lee. Vince Neil is played by the Australian Daniel Webber, Nikki Sixx by English actor Douglas Booth, and Mick Mars by Iwan Rheon, who is Welsh.
• Fake Brit: American actor Tony Cavalero as Ozzy Osbourne.
• Playing Against Type: Kathryn Morris' role as Nikki's Alcoholic Parent Deana is a far cry from her best known role as Lilly Rush.
• Starring a Star as a Star: Rapper/punk-rock musician Machine Gun Kelly plays Tommy Lee.
