Trivia / The Dear Hunter

Go To

  • Development Hell: Act VI, the promised finale to the Dear Hunter's original concept, has been in limbo since the release of Act V, with Casey stating that it might not even be an album at all, but something else entirely (something he backed up later with a video showing what he claimed to be a screenplay for Act VI), and that it wouldn't be released in any form until he was entirely satisfied with it.
  • Old Shame: "Camera" (as mentioned on the main page) and, to a lesser degree, the songs on the Dear Ms. Leading demo album that weren't redone for Act II. Casey also isn't too fond of the autobiographical elements of the latter overall, which is why he fictionalized the concept.
  • Write Who You Know: Apparently Casey came up with the plot of the story after a particularly bad breakup. However, the songs were evidently heavily rewritten for the Acts releases to remove most autobiographical elements in favour of fiction, which is another reason the demos are an Old Shame.
