- Cash-Cow Franchise: This franchise is ridiculously profitable due to its low budgets and has surpassed Alien as the highest grossing R-rated horror movie series unadjusted for inflation.
- Development Hell: Shortly after The Conjuring 2 was released, there were talks to adapt The Crooked Man into a spin-off film, in addition to Valak (whose spin-off was released in 2018). There has been no concrete news about it since; producer Peter Safran last updated its development in April 2019
, in which he stated that it has yet to be picked up, though he is still open to the idea. - No Budget: That franchise rivals Blumhouse Productions with some of its films having teeny tiny budgets outside of the mainline Conjuring films.
