- Disowned Adaptation: Frank Tashlin absolutely hated this adaptation, feeling it completely missed the point of his book. Specifically, he thought that the bear receiving and accepting a cigarette already made him psychologically a man and insulted the viewers' intelligence by implying they needed extra details to understand why the bear was being called a man. He only held off on suing to have his name removed on the grounds that a lawsuit was more trouble than he wanted, and probably wouldn't have gone through in time. Supposedly, he never spoke to Chuck Jones again for the rest of his life.
