• Beam Me Up, Scotty!: A variation; while Superman does loudly proclaim that "I am a MAN!" as he punches Ben Boxer, the quote is sometimes misunderstood as him boasting about his masculinity. He's actually pointing out that he's an organic life-form whereas Ben is an android, so what he's saying is really more akin to "I am a HUMAN!"^note (or "I am a KRYPTONIAN!" if you want to be accurate)
• Follow the Leader: The comic's art style and general story tone are very reminiscent of Rob Liefeld's work, as indeed a lot of DC's mid-90s comics were.
• He Also Did: Star Wars fans might recognize Tom Veitch as the writer of Dark Empire, which incidentally also had its main villain turn out to be a clone.
