• Colbert Bump:
  • The Let's Play of the PC-88 version published by MrPodoboo in 2009 (though nowadays considered a regret) sparked considerable interest in Special in western countries. In fact, before this video evidence, many westerners doubted that this game had ever actually been released at all (since there is precedent for a game to be announced, but never released).
  • The addition of the game's levels to Super Mario Bros. Crossover also led to players discovering and learning about the original versions.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: No version of the game was ever re-released and as with nearly every Japanese computer game of the 80's and 90's, finding copies internationally is both difficult and expensive.
• No Export for You: Due to the game's formats being exclusive to Japan and South Korea, Special became this.
