• Creator Backlash: The band regarded "Date Rape" as a weak song and grew tired of fans constantly requesting it at concerts.
• Died During Production: Nowell died mere weeks before the release of the self-titled album due to a heroin overdose.
• Screwed by the Lawyers: "Doin' Time" was originally recorded with the lyric "Doin' time and the livin's easy", but the George Gershwin estate forced the band to re-record the line with the original lyrics from "Summertime".
• Short-Lived, Big Impact: Sublime only released three albums from 1992 to 1996. Frontman Bradley Nowell, unfortunately, died from a heroin overdose before the release of their self-titled breakthrough album, and the band broke up immediately after. Nevertheless, their music represents the pinnacle of the mid-1990s ska revival.
