• Cast the Runner-Up: Robert Wolterstorff originally wanted George Clooney for Jesse Mach. He screen-tested, but ABC didn't want him. He made a guest appearance in the second episode.
• The Cast Showoff: Rex Smith is a skilled motorcycle rider and did most of his riding. A stunt double was used for dangerous stunts.
• Follow the Leader: The series was essentially Knight Rider but with a motorcycle.
• The Merch: Funskool, who retail G.I. Joe toys in India, released an unlicensed Street Hawk toy under the G.I. Joe label. This was essentially a black-painted, retooled combination of Snake Eyes and Rapid Action Motorcycle toys.
• Screwed by the Network: Put up against the ratings juggernaut Dallas then got cancelled as it was not popular enough.
• Vaporware: Its ZX Spectrum video game adaptation was one of the most notorious examples of Vaporware from the 8-bit era. It did eventually come out, but only after the software company had been reduced to giving a completely-different, hurriedly-written game of the same title to a Spectrum magazine that had offered the game as a subscription gift.
• What Could Have Been: Don Johnson was considered for Jesse Mach, but was unavailable when Miami Vice got picked up.
• Working Title: The series was originally called Falconer, but there was already a pilot that season with that same title.
