Trivia / Stōked

  • Children Voicing Children: Gage Munroe (who was 10 at the time of the show's release) as George Ridgemount.
  • Dawson Casting: The show’s teenage characters are all voiced by adults.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes
    • Despite ending the show at "Endless Bummer" in the United States, Cartoon Network did at least air episodes 23-25 online, but not episode 26.
    • Both seasons were released on DVD in Australia, but of course they're region locked sets.
    • Season 1 was given a Region 1 DVD release in 2011... But only in Canada.
    • As of March 2019, the entirety of Season 1 can be bought on iTunes.
    • Netflix brought the show back in 2018. However, only the first season was shown, which also includes the last four episodes that Cartoon Network did not air in 2010.
  • Missing Episode: The only episodes excluded from the Polish dubbing were Fast Times When The Rip Tide's High and Penthouse of Horror.
    • Due to the show's abrupt removal from Cartoon Network, the last four episodes of the first season—as well as the entire second season—were never shown in the United States.
  • No Export for You: Excluding Canada and Australia, the only known countries that have aired the entire series (all 52 episodes) are France and Germany.
  • Only So Many Canadian Actors: Due to the nature of CanCon laws, Stoked is required to only use Canadian actors for its production, so many of the actors in the show are names you'll likely have seen elsewhere in Canadian TV, including several from Fresh TV's previous works, 6teen and Total Drama, as well as some live-action shows like Degrassi: The Next Generation and Life with Derek.
  • Playing Against Type:
  • Quietly Cancelled: This was the case when the show aired on Cartoon Network in the United States. Cartoon Network removed the show after "Endless Bummer", which was the 22nd episode of season 1. The first season had four more episodes left and none of the episodes from season 2 aired in the United States.
  • Screwed by the Network: Cartoon Network was not kind to the series. The first episode premiered in mid July of 2009 and continued to air weekly (all but two of them were in the correct order) up until early November when the show was put on a hiatus until late June of 2010 to fill in the spot previously occupied by 6teen before its Grand Finale. Then, all of a sudden, the show is abruptly taken off after July 26, 2010 and replaced with reruns of new episodes of Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated which had just aired several hours prior. As a result, this decision left the last four episodes of season 1 as well as the entirety of season 2 unaired in the United States.
  • Series Hiatus: Stoked was hit with this in both the U.S. and Canada.
    • Canada: While the show did pretty decent on Teletoon when it first premiered, the series took a 4-month hiatus between "Mr. Wahine", which aired November 5, 2009, and "Reef, Broseph and Emma's Totally Stupid Adventure", which aired March 4, 2010. Season 2 was hit with it even worse. Despite airing new episodes every other week, the series saw an even longer hiatus between "Clinging in the Rain", which premiered on January 6, 2011, to "My Fair Leslie", which premiered on April 6, 2012. The series saw another hiatus. Since "Browatch", which aired on September 22, 2012, the series went back to airing new episodes every other week, even leading to the Grand Finale "Grom Fest", which aired January 26, 2013. In short, it took Canada—the show's country of origin—almost two-and-a-half years to finish season 2.
    • United States: Aside from airing the first 17 episodes out of order, the show did pretty decent when it initially aired in July 2009. However, after "Mr. Wahine", which premiered on November 10, 2009, the series took a 7-month hiatus until "Grand Theft Auto Bus", which premiered June 28, 2010, aired. The United States run ended with "Endless Bummer", which was the 22nd episode of the first season. The 7-month hiatus was the only hiatus that the US version of "Stoked" ever saw, as the series disappeared from Cartoon Network after the network removed the show after July 2010.
  • Short Run in Peru:
    • Stoked ended in the United States with "Endless Bummer", the twenty-second episode of season one—the first season still had four more episodes to air and none of the episodes from Season 2 ever aired in the United States.
    • Australia began airing the series from Fall 2010 until Spring 2011. Because they'd air a new episode every weekday (Monday through Friday), they had completed the entire series halfway within a year. Well, over a year and a half before Canada—the show's country of origin—would air the series finale, confirming that the show was over after two seasons.
