• Executive Meddling: This is reason why Colonel Maybourne makes it very clear that there were no aliens or alien ships at Area 51 prior to the activation of the Stargate Program. Since the show is heavily Backed by the Pentagon, the writers had to work in this line so the show would be in keeping with official U.S. Air Force policy. The Air Force didn't have a problem with Area 51 being represented as an advanced research and development base since that's an Open Secret.
• The Other Darrin: Actually inverted. More than one actor in this episode would go on to play entirely separate characters in episodes of Stargate Atlantis, but would never reprise their roles here.
