Trivia / Star Wars: Doctor Aphra

  • Cowboy Be Bop At His Computer: This Screenrant article seems to be under the impression that Minister Pitina Mar-Mas Voor is revealed to be the real mastermind behind the Galactic Empire in Issue 36 and would've made a more effective leader than Palpatine. Nevermind that the issue in question never suggests any such thing; it's made obvious that Voor is an overconfident Smug Snake who isn't nearly as important as she thinks she is and is easily taken down by Dr. Aphra and Darth Vader, albeit she does make some good points about the inefficient way the Imperial higher-ups generally run things.
  • Meaningful Release Date: Issue #17 was released on February 21st, 2018, featuring Hera getting captured, humiliated, and about to be turned in to Imperial custody. Two days before the issue was released, Rebels episode "Jedi Night" aired, featuring Hera having been captured and humiliated, but getting broken out of Imperial custody. In addition, in this issue, Hera acts like an Ice Queen, and considering Kanan was killed in "Jedi Night", it looks as if the events in "Jedi Night" were a Cynicism Catalyst for her.
  • Throw It In!: A caption box that reads "Doctor Aphra: You know her" was a silly joke that Alyssa Wong says she forgot to take out.
  • Word of God: Regarding the fate of Rur. Kieron Gillen clarified that the real Rur died heroically, trying to stop Eternal Rur.
