• Prop Recycling: A star chart, first seen behind Dexter Remmick in "Conspiracy" makes another appearance in the tactical room in this episode.
• Recycled Set: The chief of security's office seen in this episode is a redress of the Starbase 173 court room in "The Measure of a Man". The set had previously served as the Enterprise's geology lab in "Pen Pals".
• You Look Familiar: Suzie Plakson, who plays K'Ehleyr, also played the Vulcan Dr. Selar in the earlier Season 2 episode "The Schizoid Man." Note how the two characters' names rhyme. She would go on to reprise K'Ehleyr in "Reunion" and would later portray two additional characters in the Star Trek franchise.
