Trivia / Star Trek: Picard S1E01 "Remembrance"

Go To

  • Author's Saving Throw: Picard's archive is shown to contain the Kurlan naiskos he received from Galen in "The Chase." In a scene following the crash of the Enterprise-D in Star Trek: Generations, he is shown casually tossing it aside among the rubble, a bizarre way of treating what's established to be an ancient and priceless artifact he had been given by his dead mentor. Its presence in the archive suggests either that he knew it would be recovered from the wreckage later, or else that the authentic artifact had been safe on Earth the whole time and the naiskos on the Enterprise-D was merely a replica he had had made for display purposes.
  • Deleted Scene: Picard and Number One are walking through the vineyards at Château Picard looking at his workers and Laris and speaking to them in French.
  • Development Gag: The effect of the Romulan acid that kills Dahj — causing her flesh to blister and melt before reducing it to ash, which crumbles away from her skeleton — was how thalaron radiation was originally supposed to work in Star Trek: Nemesis before censorship concerns caused it to be changed to having the victims Taken for Granite. Thanks to the looser censorship standards of streaming video, they were able to get away with depicting the acid's effects more graphically (albeit with the disruptor rifle's explosion partly concealing the final stages, turning it into something of a Gory Discretion Shot).
