• Creator Backlash: Ira Behr was unhappy with the depiction of the Vorta in their debut. They didn't quite work out the way the writers had intended, so the Vorta would go on to have a much more limited role compared to the Founders and the Jem'Hadar for the next two Seasons. They wouldn't begin returning to prominence until Jeffrey Combs debuted as Weyoun in "To the Death".
• Recycled Set: Averted with the Odyssey Bridge. Despite being a Galaxy-class ship like the Enterprise-D, the TNG Bridge set was not utilized or redressed (as it had been previously done with the Yamato). This is likely because Star Trek: Generations had begun filming and thus the Bridge Set would have been unavailable and/or already trashed and destroyed for the Veridian III crash sequence.
