Deleted Scene: There was originally going to be a scene where SpongeBob is laying in Pearl's bed, which would've likely explained why she was upset with him at the end of the episode.
Suds:
Enforced Method Acting: Tom Kenny actually had a head cold and was just as sick as SpongeBob while recording his lines.
Recursive Adaptation: "Suds" received a book adaptation entitled SpongeBob Goes to the Doctor, which mostly follows the same plot, aside from the reason for SpongeBob getting the suds and some of Patrick's treatments being Adapted Out, as well as including an alternate ending where Patrick's punishment is being forced to read old magazines.
