Welcome to the Chum Bucket:

• Deleted Scene: There was originally going to be a scene where Plankton takes out SpongeBob's brain before putting it in the robot.
• Pop-Culture Urban Legends: A common urban legend states that Dee Bradley Baker provided Mr. Krabs' singing voice in "This Grill is Not a Home" instead of Clancy Brown, due to him sounding oddly different than usual. However, according to the episode's DVD commentary, Clancy Brown did actually sing.
• What Could Have Been: The scientist on Plankton's calendar was originally intended to be Finbarr O'Riordan, a production manager who worked at Nickelodeon at the time. Andrew Overtoom called him up, and Finbarr declined, so he instead opted to have the scientist be portrayed by the show's art director, Nick Jennings. By the time Jennings' likeness was used, Finbarr called back stating that he changed his mind and actually wanted to be in the show, but Overtoom told him it was too late.

Frankendoodle:

• Technology Marches On: SpongeBob's Pre-Asskicking One-Liner before he finishes off DoodleBob is, "Page for Mr. Doodle!" Pagers were beginning to fall out of popularity when the episode first aired, so this joke would be lost on modern audiences.
• What Could Have Been: Patrick was originally going to say SpongeBob's drawing was "lower middle class", but it was changed to "lacks basic construction", likely because of its politically offensive wording.
