• Early Draft Tie-In: The manga contains a few elements from the original game that went unused, such as Sonic's band and the original names of Spring Yard (Sparking Zone) and Scrap Brain (Clock Work Zone). Spring Yard also resembles its original neon city appearance seen in early builds as opposed to its incarnation in the final game.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: The manga has never been reprinted, so your only way to read it is to find online copies or import old issues of Mega Drive Fan.
• No Export for You: The manga was only released in Japan.
• Spoiled by the Merchandise: The manga reveals the big twist that there's a Labyrinth Zone act after Scrap Brain Zone, albeit by largely adapting Scrap Brain out, moving the entire Labyrinth to be after it and not portraying the actual final boss of the game. Other oddities include Sonic fighting the spiked Eggmobile from Spring Yard in Star Light instead.
