• Recycled Set: Kind of a given, considering this and the second film were shot back-to-back. It's explained in-universe that the rehab camp simply took over after the events of the second film.
• The Shelf of Movie Languishment: The film was shot in the fall of 1987 but wasn't released until a year after the previous installment. It can be considered Tropes Are Not Bad since the film's setting takes place the following year after the previous installment.
• What Could Have Been:
  • According to the trivia section on the IMDb, there were some different deaths planned. For example, instead of Herman getting beaten & impaled through the mouth, Angela instead would've jabbed a flaming stick into his crotch. Also, Tawny and her news crew were all scheduled to be killed when Angela cut the brake lines on their van, causing them to crash, instead of just the latter dying in the movie proper.
  • Marcia was originally supposed to have a pet dog she brought with her to camp, and it was said dog that was to have attacked Angela at the end, instead of her. Also, at the end, when she tells Tony she has a boyfriend, but he could come visit if he wanted, originally she was supposed to tell him he could "keep the dog".
