Trivia / Signs of the Swarm

Go To

  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: They have a substantial Asian and especially Japanese fanbase and tour there at least once a year.
  • Old Shame: Senseless Order. They disliked it from the get-go and only grew to like it less and less with time, and they will freely admit that it was something that they haphazardly threw together as fast as possible just to build some hype, well before they had really developed a voice as a band that wasn't just them amateurishly regurgitating Suicide Silence, Whitechapel, Pathology, and Katalepsy tropes. "Mouth Sewn Prophets" was a setlist staple for a while (and the one song they could somewhat stand behind), but they abandoned it completely when Absolvere was released and will likely never bring it back.
  • Role-Ending Misdemeanor: Cory Smarsh was fired from the band on August 5, 2021 after his longtime girlfriend came out and accused him of extensive physical and emotional abuse (particularly his many violent and destructive outbursts, with his ex posting multiple pictures of doors that he smashed and holes he put in walls), while another ex outed him for dating her while she was underage and extensively abusing her.
  • Star-Making Role: Dave Simonich and Jeff Russo was largely unknown outside of the Ohio Valley area back while he was in Improvidence in spite of his local reputation as a vocalist, and when Dave joined Signs of the Swarm in 2018, very few people had any idea who he was until his name started circulating once people began to ask where CJ was. Three years later, and he had long since become one of the best-known newer deathcore vocalists.
  • What Could Have Been: Matti Way and Jordan James were originally supposed to guest on Vital Deprivation, but illness (Matti) and a completely packed schedule (Jordan) kept it from happening.
