Trivia / Seed of Chucky

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Jennifer Tilly plays both herself and voices Tiffany.
  • California Doubling: Partially filmed in Romania of all places.
  • Celebrity Voice Actor: In the Japanese dub used for the DVD release, Chucky is voiced by the comedian Housei Tsukitei.
  • Creator Backlash: Jason Flemyng has said this is the only film he'd erase from his resume.
I was dressed as Santa, getting killed by a doll, on a set in Romania, thinking: "Where did it go wrong?"
  • Enforced Method Acting: Jason Flemyng's displeasure working on the in-universe Chucky movie was real given how he looks down as an Old Shame.
  • Fake American: In-universe. Jason Flemyng plays himself putting on an American accent for the Chucky movie he's starring in. When they stop filming, he reverts to his natural English accent.
  • Fake Brit: Billy Boyd is Scottish and uses an English accent to play Glen.
  • Playing Against Type: Hannah Spearritt had just been known for playing a ditzier version of herself in various S Club 7 media, and a role in the family-friendly Agent Cody Banks 2. The Only Sane Man in a horror movie was different.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Redman's As Himself role was originally written for Quentin Tarantino (possibly as a follow up to the casting of Alexis Arquette, who had appeared in Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, in Bride of Chucky).
    • Producers were torn on giving Glen his own look or having him resemble Chucky. They settled on a compromise - where he was given blue eyes, red hair and freckles in a different shade to his father.
    • Chris Sarandon was approached to reprise his role from the first Child's Play film but had to turn it down due to a schedule conflict.
    • Joe Pantoliano was considered for the role that later went to Redman. Pantoliano would be later cast As Himself in the Syfy show Chucky.
    • Early drafts would open with Glen having a nightmare of Chucky killing Jesse and Jade from the previous film.
    • Jennifer Tilly was originally written to be much more unlikable and cynical to the other characters.
    • When Don Mancini's original script was rejected, he wrote another story called 'Chucky Goes Psycho'; in which Chucky and Tiffany have to stay at the Bates Motel after escaping from the cemetery, kill someone and Tiffany is killed by teenagers while trying to dispose of the body. The rest of the plot would be Chucky hunting the teenagers down like I Know What You Did Last Summer.
