Trivia / Save the Light

Go To

  • Content Leak: A listing for the Save the Light/Let's Play Heroes Nintendo Switch port appeared on Video Games Plus a few weeks before the official announcement.
  • Dummied Out: When the PC version was released, a full set of voice clips was found for Lapis Lazuli (one of many hints that she was planned to be a playable character).
  • Early Draft Tie-In: Lapis Lazuli is the only NPC with voiced lines, and Peridot claims she and Connie together make the New Crystal Gems despite Lapis also being in said group in the show, making it pretty obvious she was meant to be another playable character.
  • God-Created Canon Foreigner: Played With. The Crewniverse helped write the game's story, contributing to the creation of the antagonists Hessonite and Squaridot, but the former is implied within the game to be a minor existing character—namely, Centipeetle's commander—due to her Gem placement, look, and mention of having to escape from Earth quickly near the end of the war. This was later confirmed in "Legs from Here to Homeworld" and a tweet by the show's former supervising director Ian Jones-Quartey.
  • Schedule Slip: The physical bundle with OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes was delayed many times before finally releasing in May 2019.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • There was supposed to be a big boss fight at the end of the Hall to the Heart, but they ran out of time, so it instead leads to an Empty Room Psych.
    • Despite initial announcements that an eighth playable character would be added through DLC, no DLC for the game was ever released, though unused audio found in the PC port pointed to the character being Lapis. She is instead a playable character in the sequel to this game, Unleash the Light.
