Trivia / SEVENTEEN

Go To

  • Breakthrough Hit: They were already popular from the beginning, but "Don't Wanna Cry" was the song that pushed them from a popular mid-tier group to one of the most popular Korean boy bands on par with BTS and EXO.

    • Lilili Yabbay's Korean title is 13월의 춤 (13th Month's Dance).

    • Fear's Korean title is 독 (Poison).
  • Dye Hard: All of them went through with it at some point, with Wonwoo and Vernon being notable exceptions (though it's not by a whole lot).

  • Promoted Fanboy: Hoshi is well known to be a huge fan of Shinee and gets to meet the members during music shows and award shows.
  • Throw It In!: During the music show performance of "Pretty U" on Melon, Joshua made a mistake during the chorus where he raised his hand too early as he was dancing very fast. Many fans thought it was part of the choreography until they found out that it was indeed a mistake. Eventually, the mistake is added to the choreography and the rest is history.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Seventeen was supposed to have 17 members but trainees left before debut.
    • S.Coups was supposed to debut with NU'EST.
    • S.Coups and Woozi were rumored to be part of Tempest which disbanded in 2012-2013 before they could debut.
    • Woozi was supposed to be a part of Performance Unit but got put into Vocal Unit because of his involvement in songwriting and producing.
    • Similarly, Hoshi was originally a part of Vocal Unit but was put into Performance Unit because of experience in choreographing the group's dances.
    • S.Coups was initially auditioned to be a vocalist before his vocal cords naturally dropped. The company opted to make him a rapper instead because of how husky his voice became.
