- Author's Saving Throw: Rune Factory 3 features some important changes to the game:
- The combat, one of the more contested aspects of previous games was made MUCH more dynamic here with every weapon being faster and much easier to learn and use.
- You can grab and stack up to 9 of the same items as long as they also have the same level of quality.
- The Other Darrin:
- With the sole exception of Cindy Robinson reprising her role as Raven, the English dub of Special replaced all of the cast from the original DS game.
- For the Japanese version of Special, Ari Ozawa takes over Ayumi Fujimura as Marian due to Fujimura taking an indefinite hiatus from voice acting.
- Uncredited Role: None of the English voice actors from the original DS game were credited, and the only ones that are known (Micah, Raven, Shara, and Carmen respectively) were mentioned elsewhere, which may have necessitated the re-dub for Special.
