- California Doubling: Averted for the most part; the series was well known for shooting on location throughout the U.S. whenever possible. One episode was even shot outside the U.S. — season 4's "A Long Way From St. Louie" was set and shot in Toronto.
- Distanced from Current Events: The episode "I'm Here to Kill a King", which deals with a political assassin, was originally scheduled to air on November 29, 1963. After the real-life assassination of President John F. Kennedy one week earlier, CBS pulled the episode from its schedule, and it was not seen until the show went into syndication.
