Rules of the mini-game

The emblem

The emblem is the symbol you see on the pause menu when you right click. It evolves depending on how you do in the mini-game, and indicates the difficulty level, from easy, to medium, to hard, to very hard, to half luck-based, to plain humanly impossible. The illustration at the center indicates your attack level, the laurels on the borders your defense level. The highest you score, the faster the level will increase.

Defense

  • You need to deflect all the attacks before the time (indicated by the bar on the left) runs out, by passing your mouse cursor over the white marks.
  • As you succeed, the number of attacks you have to deflect within the time limit (3 at the beginning) will increase.
  • Taking a hit makes the side ornaments of your emblem regress by one level (after they appear). It also makes the number of hits to dodge decrease by one.

Attack

  • You need to hit the enemy at least three times by clicking on the marks, right click and choose a card, all before time runs out.
  • The more hits you land within the time limit, the more your score increases.
  • The card you choose will multiply your attack score by its number.
  • The time limit will get increasingly shorter as the difficulty increases.
  • The level of the cards appearing will increase as your emblem evolves; at the minimum level it goes from 1 to 6, at the maximum level it goes 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, and Rose.
  • If you fail an attack, your emblem will decrease by one level.

Score bonuses:

  • "Overkill": Depends on the number of extra-hits you manage to land.
  • "Sharp Shooter": You never clicked outside of a mark during an attack.
  • "Ace Striker": You didn't fail a single attack.
  • "Straight Flush": You clicked on the highest-level card for every attack.
  • "Juggernaut": You didn't take a single hit.
