Trivia / Ronald D. Moore

Go To

  • Wag the Director: Ron Moore clashed frequently with Gene Roddenberry over shifting the portrayal of Starfleet over to more of a Pragmatic Hero model from Gene's preferred Ideal Hero. He made particular note of scripts discussing Starfleet Intelligence, to which Roddenberry would reportedly respond, "the good guys don't go sneaking around!" He eventually managed to sneak it in so many times that they gave up trying to stop him.
  • Word of God: He was very active on AOL boards and Usenet groups in The '90s and frequently commented on his views of events in Star Trek, for example that he envisioned the Federation having a 30,000 ship fleet at the time of the Dominion War. The Star Trek wiki Memory Alpha has many of these statements archived.
