- Completely Different Title: Gamers might find it odd to turn on the games and be greeted with the titles Robot Gyro and Robot Block. That's their Japanese names; there's literally Famicom ROM carts plugged into an adaptor inside of the Gyromite and Stack-Up carts, and the adaptors can be repurposed to play other import titles.
- Fountain of Expies: The R.O.B. has this outside Nintendo media, with other robot characters bear more or less a resemblance to it, although this was never mentioned since it is a robot. Domestobot from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories was the notable one.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: Because of how the two games worked, a Virtual Console release was all but impossible. A Switch Online release will also be very unlikely as well.
- Recursive Adaptation: Has two amiibo figures, making them toys based off of toys.

- Pikmin 2: One of the treasures you can find is a R.O.B. head, referred to as the "Remembered Old Buddy".
- In The Super Mario Bros. Movie, there is a store called "Gyro Market" that is named after the game Gyromite and has R.O.B.'s face as the logo.
- Short-Lived, Big Impact: R.O.B. only had two games that aren't fondly remembered nowadays, but being a toy-like device assuaged consumers' worries about game consoles caused by The Great Video Game Crash of 1983, giving Nintendo enough traction to become a household name.
