Trivia / Reborn! (2004)

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Odds are, if two characters look alike and are of the same gender, they will be voiced by the same person.
    • More like acting for four, Kenjiro Tsuda voices TYL!Lambo and his adult counterpart, Spanner, Lampo and Romeo (Bianchi's ex-boyfriend).
    • Takashi Kondo voices Hibari, Alaude, and Fon. Funny since all of them look alike.
    • Hidenobu Kiuchi voices boxing lovers Knuckle and Ryohei.
    • Toshiyuki Toyonaga voices both Kakimoto Chikusa and Irie Shouichi.
    • Meanwhile, Toshinobu Iida voices Mukuro Rokudo and Mochida.
  • All-Star Cast: The main characters are voiced by big names, such as Veronica Taylor, Brittany Lauda, Zeno Robinson, Ricco Fajardo, Chris Hackney, Jonah Scott, Erica Mendez, Dani Chambers, Madeleine Morris, and Julia Gu.
  • Amateur Cast: The main characters are voiced by relatively unknown or amateur voice actors at the time of airing (minus Lambo, who's voiced by well-known actors Junko Takeuchi and Kenjiro Tsuda for his adult self), which is pretty obvious in the first episodes. Contrast that to some of the side characters, who have been voiced by seasoned voice characters like Daisuke Namikawa and Kazuhiko Inoue.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices:
    • Tsuna, Fran, and Basil's voice actresses.
    • Played straight in Korean dub.
    • On the other hand, Tsuna is voiced by a male voice actor in Filipino, Italian, and Latin American Spanish dubs.
  • God Never Said That: It's commonly believed the two Filler arcs added into the anime, The Arcobaleno Trials and Primo Family Arcs, are canon to the overall story, likely because Akira Amano had a hand in writing these stories. However, later parts of the manga seem to indicate that this is not true, such as Tsuna not recognizing who Daemon Spade is despite meeting him in one of the filler arcs.
  • No Dub for You: The series was never picked up for a dub. Even when Discotek picked it up for Blu-Ray distribution in North America, it was only subtitled, though they would later release three dubbed episodes plus an English dub of the OVA as part of a "special fan disc". On the other hand, this was averted like hell in Latin America, when the series got a Spanish dub.note  However, in 2024, Discotek announced that a dub for a "sample pack" of four episodes were in development, with the company collaborating with Kocha Sound. While it is unlikely the entire series will be dubbed in English due to the costs involved, dub fans will finally have something to enjoy.
  • No Export for You: The localized manga went as far as near the first half of the future arc before stopping due to low sales, leaving the rest of the series untranslated.
  • The Other Darrin: In the anime, Dino was voiced by Kenta Kamakari, but after Episode 34 he was replaced by KENN.
  • Playing Against Type: Hidenobu Kiuchi, whose more famous roles include the composed and usually taciturn Hei of Darker than Black and the thoughtful, considerate hero of Dr. Tenma in Monster, plays Sasagawa Ryohei TO THE EXTREME!
  • Portmanteau Series Nickname: The series's full title is Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn! but fans shorten it to Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, KHR or simply Reborn!
  • Promoted Fanboy: Brittany Lauda and Matt Shipman are enormous fans of the franchise, so collaborated with Discotek Media to license a few episodes for an English dub. They also play Tsuna and Gokudera in the dub respectively.
