• Keep Circulating the Tapes: This never saw a DVD release until 2015, 15 years after Paramount started releasing Peanuts cartoons on DVD (and well after the home video rights for the specials had moved to Warner Home Video, as Paramount had been the film's original theatrical distributor).
• Posthumous Credit: Legendary animator Rod Scribner gets one, having passed away a few months before the film was released.
• Short Run in Peru: Premiered in Japan one month before its release in North America.
• Shown Their Work: To research the movie's plot, Charles Schulz actually went whitewater rafting on the Rogue River of southwestern Oregon.
• What Could Have Been: After going a different musical direction for Snoopy, Come Home, the initial plan was to bring Vince Guaraldi back to do the music for this movie. Unfortunately, he died just before it went into production.
