- Banned Episode: The Pokémon Company International has barred TV Tokyo or anybody else from ever airing the episode again or distributing the episode worldwide. 4Kids was never sent a copy so it was never dubbed.
- Bury Your Art: By order of Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi, the episode was permanently removed from circulation after its one and only airing, which infamously caused 685 viewers in Japan to be hospitalized for epileptic seizures.
- Flip-Flop of God: On whether or not an English dub was ever made, with the answer varying wildly depending on who's being asked. Though the likelihood of 4Kids getting sent a copy of such an infamous episode is pretty low so most tend to believe the accounts that a dub was never made.
- Old Shame: Perhaps one for the entire anime industry and indeed the Pokémon franchise as a whole, as it was never seen on television again and its impact on anime production to avoid a repeat of the incident has been lasting.
