- Dummied Out:
- Many Pokéstar Studio opponents have Shiny variants that go unused. It's unknown if they were originally intended for any particular purpose, or if they were included to prevent the game from crashing if the opponents are hacked in as usable Pokémon.
- The removed Route 10 still exists in the game. It can be accessed by extensive hacking, but it's missing a fair amount of associated data (e.g. random encounter tables).
- The Other Darrin: Oddly enough, no voice actors from Pokémon the Series: Black & White reprise their role in the animated trailer in either language. In the Japanese version, Bianca was voiced by Ayana Taketatsu instead of Shizuka Itō, while Elesa was voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro rather than Yumiko Kobayashi. As of the English dub, Eileen Stevens voiced Bianca instead of Erica Schroeder and Elesa was voiced by Sarah Natochenny instead of Eileen Stevens.
- Urban Legend of Zelda: Many English-speaking fans believed that, in the Japanese versions of the games, Ghetsis tries to impale and kill the player character using Kyurem's icicles (judging from the animation of the scene). In the English version, he very clearly states his intent to freeze the player character alive
. Fans believed that this was a Never Say "Die" Bowdlerization until it was pointed out that Ghetsis' threat was unchanged from the original Japanese.note - What Could Have Been:
- Hilbert and Hilda, the previous Player Characters, have unused quotes for the Pokémon World Tournament, implying they were also meant to participate.
- Concept art for the Shadow Triad shows that they were intended to have individualized character designs. For example, one was given bangs.
- A couple strings of text in the data suggest Fog was going to return as an in-battle weather type.
