Trivia / Phantasy Star II

• No Export for You: Everything related to the game outside of the original Genesis cartridge itself.
• Urban Legend of Zelda: Bringing Nei back was a common rumour - that you could complete some sidequest that would accomplish this goal. The remake in Generations 2 of course seemed to acknowledge this desire.
• What Could Have Been:
  • The story of the game was originally going to revolve around Lutz after waking from a 1000 year sleep with the memories of Alis, and the main villain of the game was supposed to be a mind control system along with Mother Brain. The rest of the story was pretty much the same though.
  • There was originally a subplot involving an uprising by the native Motavians but it was omitted from the final game.
  • Nei was originally supposed to lack armor but had a powerset which was to use biomonster abilities instead of her more healing oriented technique set. Given her role becoming a downright reoccurring archetype that could have had very significant implications on gameplay in future entries, especially if they maintained an obviously biological appearance.
