- Prop Recycling: Kind of. In the first episode, the tiger story is the lie, and the tiger used to create the video was the same trained animal that appeared in Gladiator.
- Stunt Double: The airplane story in the first episode has two guys who look a little like Penn and Teller (one professional stuntman, one stunt pilot) fly the plane. At first Penn's narration hilariously pretends it's actually them, but eventually he admits it's not and for the rest of the story they're referred to as Penn and Teller's stunt doubles.
- What Could Have Been: During the filming of the "Piranha Will Not Kill" story, Teller casually had his feet in the piranha tank and one actually bit his toe. Supposedly hilarity ensued, but although supposedly Penn and Teller asked the editors to put this part in the actual episode, they didn't.
