  • Deleted Role: As detailed below, William Wallace appears in a scene, which was removed from the cut that's available on Netflix. Only Wallace's severed head (stuck on a pike on London Bridge) and arm (put on show in Scotland) can be seen later on, post-execution.
  • Deleted Scenes: As shown at various film festivals before the Netflix release and looking at some missing trailer scenes, the film was originally between 20 and 30 minutes longer. Cut scenes include:
    • A Scottish priest being harassed by some English soldiers who steal various valuables from his church. Robert is prevented from intervening, and the priest is hanged after he protests too strongly.
    • A tense meeting between Robert and William Wallace the day after Robert's wedding.
    • A horse chase scene that ends with Robert hiding out in a cave, where the old legend of Robert being inspired to renew his fight against the English by watching a spider building its web is shown.
    • Elisabeth being harassed by some youths before she dumps a waste bucket on them.
  • Dueling Works: There is another movie about Robert the Bruce, with Angus Macfadyen reprising his role as Robert after Braveheart.
  • Fake Nationality: The English Florence Pugh portrays Elizabeth de Burgh, who was historically from Northern Ireland.
