- Adored by the Network: Ever since the summer of 2019, Discovery Family has a habit of airing this series of movies and specials every weekend.

had responded to criticisms of villains being Easily Forgiven that he would be happy to do otherwise but it's not up to him. - Denial of Digital Distribution: All films and specials related to Equestria Girls have been removed from Netflix as of October 1, 2022, with currently no plans to move the series from Discovery Family to any major streaming service.
- Quietly Cancelled: The Toyline faltered by 2019 and DHX Media was told to stop making any further specials or episodes for the series with "Holidays Unwrapped" the final animation for the series before going into hiatus. The final story in that one even having an End-of-Series Awareness. The only thing to come from the series since then was a one-shot comic book called "Cantorlot High: March Radness" and some shorts that were held over into mid-2020. There's been no news of the series since then.
- What Could Have Been: Nick Confalone revealed that there was originally supposed to be a second season finale special and a third season to the Digital Series, but according to him, it didn't work out and the winter-shorts-special was made instead. This finale would have revealed that Sunset's initial arrival in the human world had in fact displaced the human Sunset Shimmer, and shown what happened to her. (Source: here.)
- Word of Gay: Director Katrina Hadley has stated Sunset Shimmer is bisexual. However she also said that is open to fan interpretation as well.

- The main characters are around 17 years old. Sunset is "a bit older than Twilight in pony years and "age wise shes like a senior, who was held back a couple years!"
- Timber Spruce is 17-18, "1 and a half?" years older than human Twilight Sparkle, and still in high school but according to the Legend of Everfree script, Timber is 16 years old and described as "good-natured outdoors-y goofball - think Chris Pratt" and Gloriosa is 21 years old and described as "cheerful, organized, earthy type".
- After running out of pages in "Mirror Magic", Sunset's old journal is "stored safely in her apartment."
- Ishi Rudell stated given the chance, they would write it to cover more mature matters.
