- Quietly Cancelled: The Toyline faltered by 2019 and DHX Media was told to stop making any further specials or episodes for the series with "Holidays Unwrapped" the final animation for the series before going into hiatus. The final story in that one even having an End-of-Series Awareness. The only thing to come from the series since then was a one-shot comic book called "Cantorlot High: March Radness" and some shorts that were held over into mid-2020. There's been no news of the series since then.
- What Could Have Been: Nick Confalone revealed that there was originally supposed to be a second season finale special and a third season to the Digital Series, but according to him, it didn't work out and the winter-shorts-special was made instead. This finale would have revealed that Sunset's initial arrival in the human world had in fact displaced the human Sunset Shimmer, and shown what happened to her. (Source: here
