• Official Fan-Submitted Content: During the game's Kickstarter campaign, the highest funding tier allowed donors to submit a monster design that would be included in the game. 11 people submitted content this way, including Chris Zito, as evidenced in this tweet.
• What Could Have Been:
  • A number of monsters were cut during development, the full list of which can be viewed here. Probably the most notable example is Rotowl, a robotic owl-like monster who was removed due to its mechanical appearance not fitting with the more organic aesthetic of Monster Crown. However, Rotowl remains the mascot for the official Monster Crown Discord server's bot.
  • Another scrapped monster was an assistant nurse-like crownie meant to be a third member of a trio consisting of it, Surgus, and Vivisek. It was scrapped early on because the developers thought that a little girl-like monster in Hell would be just plain wrong, especially considering the other members of its planned trio.
  • According to the lead developer, the gangsters were originally going to have the player be Disguised in Drag in order to lure and capture David. It was cut due to the scenario not being very convincing, as well as the fact that by the time it was scrapped they had added additional gender options.
