• California Doubling: Most of it was obviously filmed on location in Japan, doubling for China. The very beginning of Episode 3 appears to have been filmed on the slopes of Mt. Fuji.
• The Other Darrin: The actor playing Pigsy changed between seasons.
• Unfinished Dub: When the series was first translated into English by the BBC, they only did 39 of the 52 episodes due to lack of resources. Following a successful DVD release in the early 2000s, arrangements were made for the remaining 13 episodes to also be dubbed and released, in the same style and with as many of the same voice actors as could be arranged.
