Trivia / Miles from Tomorrowland

Go To

  • Acting for Two:
    • Tom Kenny voices Leo Callisto, Ruggles, a Dethalian guard, Blippy Blopp, Fossyk, and Ambassador Titus, among many others
    • Dee Bradley Baker voices MERC, Xylon, Pipp's dad, many of the show's animals and creatures, and more
    • Danny Jacobs voices Bloppy Blop and Crick
    • Diedrich Bader voices Watson, a Dethalian guard, and Scamp
    • Grey DeLisle Griffin voices Stella, Queen Gemma, and Pipp's mother
    • Kevin Michael Richardson voices both Mirando's father and Bootjet Groovestar.
  • Backed by the Pentagon: The show's creator reached out in order to erase gender stereotypes, among other things, including getting one episode broadcast on the ISS.
  • Casting Gag:
    • We have a chef named Lysander who occasionally helps the Callistos. His voice actor? Alton Brown.
    • In keeping with the Star Wars influence, antagonist Gadfly Garnett is voiced by Mark Hamill.
    • In keeping up with the Star Trek influence, we have antagonist Commander S'Leet voiced by Wil Wheaton, and Leo's father, voiced by Jonathan Frakes.
    • Bill Nye the Science guy is the voice behind Professor Rubicon.
    • The episode "First Day Of Galactic School" introduces the character of Dr. Consilium, voiced by Levar Burton. He voices Doc Greene, a similar character, on Transformers Rescue Bots, another show with Nicole Dubuc and Greg Johnson onboard.
    • Doctor Zephyr Skye (nicknamed Doctor Zee, a Stormchaser), is voiced by real life meteorologist Ginger Zee.
    • We have Buzz Aldrin voicing Commander Copernicus in "Connect And Protect".
    • Aggro is the second robot that John DiMaggio has voiced.
    • Stella, the ship's computer, is voiced by Grey DeLisle Griffin. It's not the only time she voiced the A.I. of a ship. Just look at Aya.
  • Channel Hop: Season 1 episodes premiered on the Disney Junior block on Disney Channel. Starting in season 2, the premieres, and later reruns, moved to the Disney Junior channel.
    • Subverted with season 3, which has its premieres on the Disney Junior block on Disney Channel before the Disney Junior channel.
  • Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: One article released before season 3 claimed that its a reboot due to the new direction, when it's actually a retool since it's still in the same continuity, but with a new story.
  • Creator Cameo:
    • Nicole Dubuc, the former story editor of the series, voices Nualu in "Ghost Moon".
  • Crossdressing Voices: Outside of Grey DeLisle Griffin voicing some baby boys and Tom Kenny voicing Blodger's mom, the show generally averts this with all child characters voiced by kids of their respective gender.
  • Dawson Casting:
    • Loretta started the series at 11 years old, yet is voiced by Fiona Bishop, who was most likely 15 when recording her dialogue, and turned 17 the year it came out. Season 3 ages her up to 14, but she would already be 19.
    • Averted with Miles. Cullen McCarthy was 12-13 when the show came out before Miles got recasted with the 9-10 year old Justin Felbinger. Seaon 3 ages him up to age 10, making him only slightly younger than his voice actor.
  • Fake Brit:
    • Tom Kenny voices Ambassador Titus with a British accent.
    • Grey DeLisle uses one for Queen Gemma.
    • Cree Summer and Keith Ferguson voice Haruna's parents with an accent, which is surprising since Isaac Ryan Brown, Haruna's voice actor, uses his regular American voice.
    • We have Felicia Day as Grendle.
  • Playing Against Type: Most of Felicia Day's characters are good natured and/or adorkable, like Angela and Pear Butter. In "How To Build A Better Villain", she voices the video game antagonist Grendle, who, despite an affably evil nature, is completely serious. She escapes into the real world in the end, vowing to take over the universe for real, making this even more playing against type.
  • Mistaken Identity: Mark Hamill posts a tweet for Gadfly’s next appearance. And almost everyone thought he was talking about Donald Trump.
  • Production Posse:
  • Real-Life Relative:
    • Mirandos (the blue alien seen in The Discovery Expedition) is voiced by Ivy Bishop, the sister of Loretta's voice actress Fiona Bishop.
    • The episode "The Big Escape" has a little girl named Lemo voiced by Violet Grace Schaffer, the daughter of the show's voice director, Lisa Schaffer.
  • The Other Darrin: Starting in season 2, Justin Felbinger replaces Cullen McCarthy as the voice of Miles.
  • Screwed by the Network: The show eventually fell into this. For the first season, as well as the first half of the second season, it had a decent amount of reruns on both the Disney Junior block and channel. Come 2017, and its premieres and encores were only on the Disney Junior channel. Season 3 seemed to subvert it, but then played it straight. At first, there were encores on both the block and channel, but come 2018, and the Disney Junior block would only have premieres, which eventually spread to the Disney Junior channel.
  • Voices in One Room: Played with. According to Sascha Paladino, the cast doesn't always record together. The most likely reason would be from Olivia Munn's busy schedule.
  • What Could Have Been: According to this article, Season 3 was originally going to have Miles, Loretta, and the gang attending some sort of special school training to be heroes rather than the current concept of being part of a team.
  • Word of God: Sascha Paladino is supportive of the idea of his show appearing in Kingdom Hearts.
  • Write Who You Know: Miles and Loretta are based on Sascha Paladino's own children.
