  • Banned in China: Two episodes of the first season and two episodes of the second season were banned from airing in communist Czechoslovakia, as they were considered by the censors as satirising the communist society. They were only voiced and aired after the fall of communism.
  • Dueling Dubs: The second series was dubbed into German separately in West and East Germany. The East German dub, Adolars phantastische Abenteuer ("Adolar's Fantastic Adventure") was a continuation of the first series' German dubbing and generally tried to preserve the original dialog's jocular nature. The West German version Archibald der Weltraumtrotter ("Archibald the Space-Trekker") was produced wholly independantly, and had a tendency to tone down or remove the verbal jokes and satire entirely.
  • The Other Darrin: Most of the voice actors changed over time, especially once the characters started making appearances in other media like commercials decades after the show ended. Máris was already recast in the original series; his voice actor Nándor Tomanek quit for health reasons and György Bárdi took over. Interestingly, his third voice, Gábor Tomanek, was his original actor's son.
    • Czechoslovak communists didn't allow two episodes of the first season and two episodes of the second season to be aired, thus causing only eleven episodes to receive Czech dub back then. This lead to the four censored episodes receiving Czech dub only after the Velvet Revolution with a new cast of voice actors. When the series get aired nowadays, the eleven episodes with the communist-era dub and the two post-Velvet Revolution are aired together, causing sudden shifts of voices throughout airings. Also, when it comes to Czechoslovakia, the Czech voice actor for Aladár, Karel Mišurec, got replaced with another voice actor, Jaroslav Kuneš, in the second season for undisclosed reasons. Mišurec returned as Aladár's voice in the third season.
  • Role Reprise: Géza's voice actor Endre Harkányi was the only returning cast member for the proposed 2005 continuation, as everyone else had grown older or passed away by then.
    • In the Czech dub, Aladár's voice actor from the second season, Jaroslav Kuneš, is the only voice actor who reprised his role in the post-Velvet Revolution voicing of the episodes banned by the communists.
  • What Could Have Been: A fourth season was planned for a 2005 release, titled "A Mézga család és a(s)z ámítógép", a wordplay-title that can be translated as "The Mézgas and the Computer" or "The Mézgas and the Nonsense-Machine". At the title suggests, the premise this time was the family discovering the world of computer technology and the internet, though they were inexplicably still the same age as in the '60s-'70s. Two half-length episodes were produced but the season was scrapped due to the lack of funding. Some viewers suggested this was for the better, as the concept could easily have been mishandled, and the second episode bizarrely contained a comically racist Chinese stereotype that proved the show's humor was still stuck forty years in the past.
