Trivia / Mandy Rose

Go To

  • Actor-Inspired Element: The Otis storyline was her idea, and she pitched it to Vince McMahon personally.
"Otis always was around in NXT and posting pics of me and talking about how much he liked me. In a cute way, not a creepy way. This continued on and I thought it would be great if this became a storyline."
  • Creator Backlash: She regrets playing up the mean girl persona for her time on Tough Enough, especially her infamous "ring rat" comment towards Sara Lee.
  • Dye Hard: Known as a blonde for her early career, she became a brunette around the time she formed Toxic Attraction.
  • Role-Ending Misdemeanor: Was released from her contract in December 2022 the day after dropping the NXT Women's Championship to Roxanne Perez due to the discovery of explicit material being produced and sold online through a fanpage run by Rose herself that Mattel, a major sponsor partner of WWE, took offense to, forcing the company's hand.
  • Romance on the Set: She's engaged to former NXT wrestler Tino Sabbatelli.
  • Serendipity Writes the Plot:
    • The planned Absolution storyline naturally had to be retooled once Paige suffered a career ending neck injury.
    • Her match against Sonya Deville at SummerSlam 2020 was originally announced as a Hair vs. Hair match and, given that it was set up by Sonya attacking Mandy and cutting her hair, it was assumed that Sonya would be losing. But in the week after the match was announced, Sonya was the victim of an attempted kidnapping in her home, and it was changed to Loser Leaves WWE both to allow her time off and because she would need to appear in court and therefore need a more professional appearance.
  • What Could Have Been: She and Sonya Deville pitched a storyline where it would be revealed that they were actually a couple or had lesbian feelings for each other. Creative were supposedly wary that the angle would be too controversial, since it would be hard to play for Girl on Girl Is Hot as would have been the case in the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression Eras.
