Trivia / M.O.D.O.K. (2021)

Go To

  • Accidental Downer Ending: The last episode ended with M.O.D.O.K. allowing Anomoly to kill his family so that he could successfully take over the world. Unhappy with the aftermath, he tortures Anomoly with intent on finding a way to bring them back before killing him while declaring intent to find a way to have it all. Due to poor performance in both views and feedback, the show was not renewed for a second season.
  • Acting for Two:
    • Bill Hader voices both the Leader and Angar the Screamer.
    • Melissa Fumero voices Melissa and various AIM employees.
  • Dueling Shows: With Harley Quinn (2019), another super-villain/anti-hero themed comedy show featuring adult humor and copious amounts of gore.
  • The Danza: Melissa Tarleton, M.O.D.O.K.'s daughter, is voiced by Melissa Fumero.
  • Late Export for You: Not as bad as some examples but while America got the full season on release day international viewers only got the first episode with the rest as weekly releases.
  • Role Reprise: In the French dub, Iron Man is voiced by Bernard Gabay, reprising his role from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
  • What Could Have Been: Originally, MODOK was meant to be the first of four adult animated Marvel series for Hulu. The show was to be followed by one for Hit-Monkey, Tigra and Dazzler and Howard the Duck, which would have all cumulated in a crossover special titled The Offenders. Upon Marvel Television being restructured to be under the umbrella of Marvel Studios, the latter two series, as well as The Offenders, were cancelled. While Hit-Monkey was ultimately still made, due to having a different animation style and M.O.D.O.K being cancelled, a crossover between them is unlikely, though they both officially take place in the same universe.
