• Creator Backlash: Director Jimmy Sangster and Ralph Bates disowned the film when they saw the finished product, including its Harry Fine inspired song "Strange Love" with lyrics by independent producer Frank Godwin.
• Old Shame: Ralph Bates called this "one of the worst films ever made".
• The Other Darrin: Neither Ingrid Pitt nor Peter Cushing returned. Cushing dropped out to care for his dying wife and Pitt starred in Countess Dracula. Their roles were played by Yutte Stensgaard and Ralph Bates.
