Trivia / Little Audrey

Go To

  • Channel Hop: St. John Publications started Little Audrey's comic book run until Harvey took over in 1952.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: A full release of Audrey's cartoons isn't likely to happen because of cross-ownership issues and the racial stereotyping of Audrey's housekeeper. Some shorts that fell into the Public Domain were released on various VHS and DVD compilations of classic cartoons, and they are readily available on YouTube. Many of the post-1950 shorts that circulate are repackaged Harvey versions, although "Audrey the Rainmaker", "The Seapreme Court", "Little Audrey Riding Hood" and "Dawg Gawn" exist in their unedited incarnations. Of the cartoons sold to U.M. & M., the only short that hasn't turned up in its original state is "The Lost Dream".
  • Screwed by the Lawyers:
    • Little Audrey was created as a result of Paramount failing to renew their contract with Little Lulu's creator, Marjorie Henderson Buell.
    • Ownership of Little Audrey's cartoons is divided between Paramount through ViacomCBS and Harvey Comics through NBCUniversal. Further complicating matters, the character of Little Audrey is owned by Universal.
