• All-Star Cast: The main cast is made entirely of popular voice acting veterans.
• Deleted Scene: Because the anime adapts the manga out of order some scenes in the manga get taken out to improve the anime's new continuity. For example the concert plot in episode 5 was supposed to happen before the day off scenes in episode 2, so the scene that would have connected the two — Usahara and Kumatani talking about what they were going to do on their day off after the concert— was cut out.
• "Do It Yourself" Theme Tune: Opening Theme Song "ABC Taiso" is sung by Iketeru Onii-san (Mamoru Miyano) and Utano One-san (Nana Mizuki) and Ending Song "Dream On" is sung by Mamoru Miyano.
• Playing Against Type:
  • Tomokazu Sugita and Ray Chase as Tobikichi Usahara (Usao), who's always getting into trouble, especially financial problems.
  • Yuichi Nakamura and Howard Wang as Mitsuo Kumatani (Kumao) as the comedic straight man for Usahara.
• Out of Order: The anime adapts the manga chapters in a much different order than they were published. This is fairly normal for gag manga anime adaptions, however they end up ruining a Brick Joke because they adapt the set up (Usahara saying that Uramichi's house is probably littered with dumbbells) after the punch line (Usahara tripping over dumbbells when he visits Uramichi's house) which makes the former part feel out of place in the anime.
  • Ordering the episodes to more closely match the manga's timeline would be as followed: 1, 3, 5, 2, 4 then 6.
