- Creator Backlash: Rob Spera, the director, goes back and forth on this. On the one hand, he doesn't list the movie on his online resume and has been known to lash out at interviewers who ask him about it. That said, he was very cordial on the commentary for the 7-film collection, and admitted that it was a fun film to work on.
- So My Kids Can Watch: Ice-T has stated that he took the role because his son was a fan of the Leprechaun films. That said, he doesn't regret doing it and enjoyed working with Warwick Davis, whom he considers a "legend."
- What Could Have Been: The Leprechaun's rap originally occurred early in the film, specifically after the Leprechaun kills the club owner, which explains why he brainwashes the "Zombie fly girls" in that sequence. During editing, Spera recognized that it would be the movie's Signature Scene and made it the finale instead.
