• Actor Allusion: When talking to Yara, the Brazilian Capoeira specialist, Cassidy tells her that she looks more like a model than a fighter. Rosemary Vandenbroucke, who played Yara, was a model for years before becoming a singer and actress.
• Fake Nationality: Several of the characters are played by actors from whose nationalities wildly differ from the ones they’re playing. The most prominent examples are Svietta played by half Singaporean, half British Mayling Ng, and Hong Kong petty criminal Ling, played by the Australian Jenny Wu.
• Working Title: Lady Bloodsport. It had to be changed when the producers failed to secure the rights to the name.
